Our history

InFocus Legal was founded in 2013 by Principal Solicitor Dorian Sarkissian.

Since then, we’ve continued to build our profile within the community, and have become a sought after Sydney law firm.

Dorian Sarkissian

Principal Solicitor

Dorian Sarkissian founded Infocus Legal in 2013 and specialises in Property Law. 

Dorian has extensive and comprehensive experience in and exposure to most aspects of property and commercial law including:

  • Acquisition and disposal of commercial, industrial, retail and residential properties.
  • Acquisition and aggregation of development sites
  • Advising property owners and developers in relation to all property aspects of their transaction.
  • Advising and acting on “off the plan” sales of units in large commercial, industrial and residential developments.
  • Advising and acting on option agreements and tender documents associated with property transactions.
  • Advising and acting for major landlords on leasing of retail shopping centres, commercial buildings and industrial buildings.
  • Stamp duty and GST advice on property transactions.
  • Due diligence reporting.
  • Advising and acting on finance associated with property transactions.
  • General advice on most aspects of property ownership and transactions.
  • Business structuring, including shareholder agreements and joint venture arrangements.
  • Advising on wills and estates and probate.

Jodhi Coady

Senior Associate

Jodhi Coady joined the Infocus Legal team as a Senior Associate in 2020. She brings a wealth of experience in a variety of areas of law with over 15 years’ experience in private practice specifically specialising in family law. Jodhi has an empathetic approach to all her clients with the intent to educate to enable clients to make informed decisions during complex dispute resolution issues.

Jodhi’s Expertise and Experience

Family Law
Jodhi has experience assisting clients with family law issues including:

  • Resolving matters by negotiation and mediation, and finalising and submitting a high volume of Consent Orders in the Family Law Courts for successfully negotiated outcomes;
  • Advising clients on family law entitlements and likely court outcomes to assist them in negotiations;
  • Running family law property and financial dispute court matters in the Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Parramatta and Melbourne Registries of the Federal Circuit Courts and the Sydney Family Law Court, including significant advocacy experience;
  • Running family law parenting dispute court matters in the Sydney, Parramatta and Melbourne Registries of the Federal Circuit Court and the Sydney Family Law Court including significant advocacy experience;
  • Running Parental Relocation cases in the Sydney Registry of the Family Law Court including advocacy experience;
  • Running family law property matters in the Eastern Region (Sydney) Family Law Court of Appeal including some advocacy experience;
  • Arranging Divorces
  • Preparing Pre-nuptial Agreements (Binding Financial Agreement)

Criminal Law, APVO’s and ADVO’s
Jodhi has considerable local court experience running defendant hearings in local court:

  • Criminal law matters including:
    • Running defended hearings in apprehended domestic violence orders;
    • Running defended hearings in assault and property damage charges;
    • Running defended hearings in driving under the influence charges;
    • Sentencing pleas; and
    • Running Section 32 Applications under the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990.
  • Managing defences to local government charges
  • Managing defences to ASIC charges

Estate Litigation and Family Provision Claims
Jodhi has also appeared for and represented clients in:

Daniel Adams

Solicitor

Daniel Adams is a passionate and enthusiastic lawyer dedicated to achieving the best result for his clients. Daniel has a relaxed and personable nature.

Daniel predominantly practices in property law providing the full compliment of legal service. Daniel has acted for investors, developers, landlords and occupiers. Daniel handles a wide range of matters involving property acquisitions, property disposals, high-value complex transactions, joint venture development sites, construction issued, associated financing and all property aspects of corporate deals.

Rita is a licensed conveyancer who joined the Infocus Legal team in 2014.

Rita has built up a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has acted for both personal and corporate clients and is passionate about offering her clients a superb service.Rita is really good at making her clients feel valued and supported throughout their journey with Infocus.

Merad Ibrahim

Paralegal

Merad is a Paralegal at Infocus.  He deals with all aspects of his clients’ home move, and puts everything into making sure they buy or sell their property as quickly and easily as possible.  Because he understands how stressful a home move can be, he likes to do all she can to alleviate this, so that his clients’ experience is as hassle-free and enjoyable as possible. Merad is currently undertaking his law degree, hoping to fully qualify in the very near future.
